Getting to know Tallahassee

Tallahassee, the capital city of Florida, is a diverse region with plenty to do and see. A bustling mid-sized city with close ties to rural America, Tallahassee is home to several institutions of higher education such as Florida State University (FSU), Florida Agricultural and Mechanical University (FAMU), and Tallahassee Community College (TCC). With the political heart of Florida in Tallahassee, many notable people visit Tallahassee, and many make their home here.

Although on the outside, Tallahassee looks like a quiet little town, just show up during an FSU home game or visit the capitol when the legislature is session. Tallahassee’s cultural life includes museums for kids and adults, Florida history, local history, performances at the Civic Center, and the arts at Ruby Diamond Auditorium on the Florida State campus.
